In 2000 Joe founded "The Jazz Singers Workshop" and his private studio in Cambridge where he is a vocal coach, piano teacher, composer and musical director. Through the Cambridge Center's "Great Jazz In Harvard Square" series (in partnership with The Regattabar Jazz Club), Joe has opened for and hosted pianists Bill Charlap, Kenny Barron, Michel Camilo and Ahmad Jamal. He has performed at many venues in the Greater Boston area including Ryles Jazz Club, Club Cafe, Les Zygomates, and the Lilypad. In 2009 Joe made his stand-up comedy debut at The Comedy Studio in Harvard Square where he will be returning throughout the 2010-11 season.

His latest recording "DUEL"
(with percussionist Brooke Sofferman) will be
available in 2010.

JOE DELLA PENNA is one of the most
renowned jazz musicians on the Greater Boston scene
today. A pianist for over thirty years, he holds
two performance degrees (New England Conservatory,
M.M. and The Hartt School, B.M. cum laude).
